Spring Mergence ~ Winter's loosened grip has given way to flowers shedding tears of nectar joy. I walk the fields and pass the hours held in the scents of sweetgrass, tree frog peeps, and dewdrops. You bring me home again, each step a little deeper, midst roots and shoots quickened by spring showers. A shadow in the mist could have been anyone. I look to see a friend revealed in a ray burst of sun. I greet my friend and bow in meeting, this soul standing strong and steady, dear scaly towering ancient oak treebeing. Whispers from Our Ancestors Listen to the whispers of the mothers and fathers that came before us - they beckon and invite us to heal. We awaken to a world asleep, connection to the heart all but forgotten. Our heart swells, our gut twists, tears fall for it all, for hopes we had since we were babes, for a world rid of injustice in all its codes and colors. Listen to the whispers of those that came before us - they beckon and invite us to heal. Here we are – this world set inside a tempest of the lost and asleep. What are we to do or be? Where is our commitment in all of this - To ourselves and to the world? We can commit to experiencing our humanity in relationship to ourSelf. We can weather the storm here in the moment. We can drop into that sweet surrender of being who we are. We spent so much time with hope that doing what we could to move us toward light and love would make everything okay. Here we sit trying to find purchase in the still point of the storm, the place where love resides, feeling as if the progress we’ve witnessed and helped nurture is getting sucked back into a vast back hole of fear and separation. Our footing is so tenuous. We’re not sure where to step. See? Our fear rises up. We need something solid, a place of refuge, constant and loving. Oh, beautiful resting place of peace here in the breath and being. We find freedom and release hiding right here in the present, eternally waiting for us to show up. We each weather the storm around us. We drop into that sweet surrender of being who we are.
