Houston TX is recovering from what is being called the worst disaster in the history of this nation . Harvey proved that the present drainage system is not adequate for the water to drain fast enough to disperse 4 – 6 inches of rain per hour, which dumped on our city and surrounding areas for 4 days, without wreaking havoc on much of the land and displacing people and families and animals. The good part is how everyone rose to the occasion and the cooperation and genuine caring and service that is evident through major rescue operations and sharing of everything from food, clothing, household goods, furniture and pet provisions to restoration materials and the labor to get things done ASAP . It’s a testament to the goodness of humanity that’s heartwarming to see and hear, especially the children who learned what true service means and how rewarding it can be to help our neighbors. Thanks to all those who donated – from all over the nation – their time, efforts and caring to Houston in our time of need. We are grateful.
