I get it that life can sometimes get in the way and throw obstacles onto our path of finding our inner light. While I do my best to empower people by helping them release their B.S. stories so that they may embrace how they WANT TO FEEL, there are times that other people’s stories will get in the way of this goodness. Injuries, death, illness, break-ups can be overwhelming. But it’s in the face of these challenges that you have to just KEEP MOVING FORWARD. While the progress may be slower and the process not as perfect as you would like, the key is NEVER GIVING UP.
Another common obstacle that can derail people from their paths is getting caught up in their heads trying to understand the actions of others. STOP THAT NOW! Remember, their actions do not matter; it’s your actions that matter. The negative self-talk is a waste of time and energy. Speak to yourself how you want to be spoken to. And, justifying your pity party doesn’t work either – it’s just another B.S. story.
What I also hear a lot is, “But Dena, I’m not sure what my path is!” The starting point is to pause, be in the moment and define for yourself how you want to FEEL. Then, make sure your actions support that feeling. Choose THOUGHTS, WORDS, PEOPLE, SURROUNDINGS, etc. that support what you desire. If your reaction is, “That’s nice, but it won’t work for me,” then you’ve just come across another B.S. story that you have to release. If you need help releasing, then schedule another session with me. The key is to feel the emotion first, then take action to support that feeling!
I’ll leave you with this quote by the great poet and author Maya Angelou who said, “We have to confront ourselves. Do we like what we see in the mirror? And, according to our light, according to our understanding, according to our courage, we will have to say yea or nay—and rise!” This month I encourage you to confront yourself. And then start taking the actions that you need to stay on your path and RISE to embrace those feelings that you want to define your life.
Mantra: I am moving forward daily, rising and embracing my personal joys.
