If you had it to do all over again, would you? Most of us would probably say no because we get the fact that we have learned so many lessons through our experiences—especially the challenging ones—and it’s just too much damn work to go through it all again!
The idealist might think that the second time around would be easier but, the truth is, we would probably make just as many mistakes in the do-over process. Think about it. What leads us to the choices we make or to react in a certain way? It’s the fact that we get caught up in the moment, that we’re living in context and are seeing each problem as though it’s the worst thing in the world. It’s only when we get through it that we can look back and say, “Maybe that wasn’t so bad after all.”
This same thing is what I think happens when we’re on the other side getting ready to incarnate again. I believe we’ve all been here before and we get wild and crazy and want to do it again to allow more growth for our soul. We think it’s going to be easier than it is. And then we get here and once again get caught up in all of the little things instead of remembering why we returned in the first place—to understand the beauty and growth that only comes from seeing the big picture.
So, as we end this year, I want you to take a moment to look back over the last 12 months. Take stock of the growth that occurred in the heavier moments. Honor those experiences and, of course, take time to be with the happy and love-filled times as well.
Going through this “do over” process, we know we aren’t able to change what’s happened in the past. But this is our opportunity to honor it—and then move the hell on. Then decide how you want to feel now and in the future and start creating experiences to honor THAT!
Mantra: I am creating the life that I want to live in right now.
