I am an experienced CEO, national leader, author and speaker. Currently I serve as President of the Start Smart Career Center which has the purpose of helping women navigate their nonprofit careers and become leaders in the workplace (blogsite at www.startsmartcareercenter.org). My previous position, which I held for 12 years, was Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Social Workers, the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the country.  In addition, I have a clinical background in health care, with specialties in cancer survivorship, loss, and grief. My passion is hope, and I consider myself a hope advocate.
