Bio

My name is Allison Kugel. I am a published journalist, public relations executive, speaker on communications and creator of the new Upitch App, now on the App Store. I am also author of the upcoming memoir, Journaling Fame, set to be released in March 2017.

I have been running successful public relations campaigns for the past 17 years for clients across several industries, including: technology/startups, health/wellness, lifestyle, spirituality/new age, entertainment, automotive, beauty and media. My work has resulted in thousands of pieces of press for my clients in/on media outlets, including:

CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, Fox News, Fox Business News, Bloomberg Businessweek, Wall Street Journal, New York Post, New York Daily News, NY Newsday, Staten Island Advance, Miami Herald, Palm Beach Post, Sun Sentinel, Detroit Free Press, Denver Post, Boston Globe, Philadelphia Daily News, San Francisco Chronicle, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Entrepreneur, The Huffington Post, CBS News, ABC News, NBC News, USA Today, Good Morning America, CBS's The Talk, In Style, US Weekly, Life & Style Weekly, Closer Weekly, InTouch Weekly, Teen Vogue, People, Family Circle, The Hallmark Channel, Mashable, EliteDaily, Mic.com, Tech.co, Cosmopolitan, Women's Health, Prevention, Travel Weekly, Sophisticate's Hairstyle Guide, 1010 WINS radio, Sirius XM radio, Clear Channel radio and many, many more outlets.
Through nearly two decades of experience in both journalism and public relations, I wanted to create a mobile application that would facilitate quicker, easier and more cost effective communication between journalists and the people looking for media exposure for their various projects.
Our app allows anyone with a story to pitch on a free mobile platform that gets delivered directly to targeted journalists' smartphone screens. It allows journalists a third party mobile platform where they can source stories and search for stories to cover, by choosing industry filters and swiping through brief micro pitches on the app. Journalists can anonymously Like or Pass on pitches by swiping either left or right.
Once a journalists swipes right on a pitch to express interest, either party can now initiate a chat via the upitch in-app messenger.
On the app store or at upitchapp.com (for Android users).
